There are times when I run across things that first make me chuckle, but then I realize how much I want them. The Gaems G155 is exactly one of these products. It’s a travel case for your Xbox 360 or PS3. But it’s more than that. In fact, the company bills it as a “personal gaming environment”, and that means that it includes a screen, audio outputs and more to keep you gaming on the go.

With my newfound addiction to my Xbox 360, I’m all about owning one of these. They’re TSA-approved for travel, keep things safe and secure and darn it, they look pretty freaking great. Check out the promo video, then a high-res shot that we snagged at CES 2012.
The G155 runs $299, but there’s a handy deal available if you buy the G155 and an Xbox 360 (250 GB) through the Microsoft Store – You’ll get the whole bundle for $499, saving yourself about $200 from the retail pricing.
Let’s face it – You’ll never actually need to take your Xbox with you. But who needs logic and reasoning when we have a perfectly good excuse to be gamer geeks? Want to keep up with everything that we’re covering at CES 2012? Make sure to bookmark this link .

Google updates Maps for Android with search history and single-handed zoom
Google today updated its Google Maps for Android app with search history and single-handed zoom. You can grab the new version from the official Google Play store .

For the search, directions, and mapping history to work, you need to be signed in to Google Maps. The feature, which is enabled by default, starts working immediately when you start to type into the search box: you’ll see suggestions for directions and locations that you’ve previously searched for. You can also see your history directly on your Android phone by going to the “Search” or “Directions” tabs under My Places.
The update was first announced this morning over at The New York Times . The new version went live, however, just a few minutes ago this evening. Here’s an excerpt worth quoting:
As the report notes, Google updating its Google Maps app for Android on Wednesday is no coincidence. Today happens to conveniently coincide with the release of iOS 6 , which kicks Google Maps off Apple’s mobile operating . Cupertino basically decided to further itself from Mountain View by swapping out the latter’s maps integration for its own (arguably worse) service.
As a result, Google is showing its Android users some love. There’s no news as to whether the search giant will release a new version of Maps for iOS, like it did for YouTube. The only thing Mountain View would say about the issue is that it wants everyone to use Google Maps.
“We believe Google Maps are the most comprehensive, accurate and easy-to-use maps in the world,” a Google spokesperson told Search Engine Land . “Our goal is to make Google Maps available to everyone who wants to use it, regardless of device, browser, or operating system.”
In any case, the official Google Maps for Android changelog is a short one:
We’ll keep you updated with any further improvements, whether that’s for Android, iOS, or other platforms.

Ever wanted a Roomba for mowing your lawn? Check out this amazing creation
By now you’ve probably owned, or had a friend that owned, a Roomba. Those robot vacuum cleaners are the best thing to happen to overly-busy (or overly-lazy) people in ages. But what if you could take the inspiration behind Roomba and apply it to a lawn mower, so that you never had to personally mow your grass again?

That’s exactly what LawnBott has done. The company, a US subsidiary of Japan’s Kyodo has built a fleet of different lawn-mowing robots, including its newest, the LB1500 SpyderEVO .
It operates on a similar idea as the Roomba, as well. By setting up a wired perimeter around the area that you want mowed, the SpyderEVO is assured to stay where you want it. Also, it’s powered by a lithium-ion battery pack, so there’s no gas, no oil and it should be relatively maintenance-free.
At $1,799 MSRP it’s not for the faint of wallet, but time is more valuable than money to almost anyone who can afford for it to be.
We’ll be checking out a review unit of the SpyderEVO soon, but for now have a gander at the demo video. It’s safe to say that I’m sufficiently more excited about this than I should be.
