iTunes is the PC software that enables an iPhone to be connected to a computer for data transfer, synchronization, contacts managements etc. iTunes can also connect to the iTunes Store to download goodies like songs, games and other software. If there is a problem connecting to the iTunes Store, it could be down to the configuration settings or security settings of iTunes. Changes can be made in the Preferences tab of the iTunes application software, to allow access to the store. It should be noted that the latest version of iTunes should be used, especially to avoid problems when connecting to the iTunes store.
Since I downloaded the latest iTunes version, I started having problems when connecting to the iTunes Store. I tried everything, including adding iTunes to the McAfee exceptions, making sure the use of Proxy Server is unchecked, reinstalling iTunes, etc. but so far still no luck. It keeps saying Loading... when trying to connect to the Store and when trying to update my applications, it says to check my Internet connection. My internet works perfectly fine. I don't have Norton on my PC, so that is not a problem. HELP!!!
To solve the above problem:
Open iTunes
Click on Preferences
Under Parental Controls disable access to the iTunes Store
Check the box to allow access to iTunes U
When I tried loading the store this time, it sent me directly to iTunes U with no problem.
I then went back into Preferences and enabled access to everything and try reloading the store.
You should now be able to connect to the iTunes Store without any trouble!
Note that, it is highly recommended to update or use the latest version of iTunes, download here
